Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for answering all of my questions!

I have yet another.. Do many of you offer your gel nails mobile?
If so do you find it works ok doing it mobile? And do you bring your own table?

Thanks a lot!

I have only just set up so can't really answer as to whether it's working or not as I have only had a couple of clients but I take everything with me, so I can do gel, I have a fantastic led lamp that's really compact and still fits all 5 fingers! I also have a great portable table that's folds down nicely into a bag and just fits in the boot of my car.

Do you mean Gel Polish or Gel extensions/enhancements

Gel polish at the moment I am going to try and master this first then expand to extensions :)

OK, can you make sure you refer to them as Gel Polish then, not Gel Nails, within the industry Gel Nail are extensions/enhancements and we're having trouble keeping our clients informed and asking for the right things they want, so if we get the terminology right we can keep our clients happy and confident in our skills and knowledge :D

With regard to mobile with Gel Polish your biggest issue is going to be weight and transport. It's Nail Tech law (a bit like Sods Law) that no matter how many shades of pink/red/purple/whatever you have it won't be the one they want :p, so you need to decide how many colours you are planning to carry and how, and transport of your lamp.

Some of this will be dependant on the brand you have trained with and are using. For instance, CND Shellac cannot be mixed to create colours but can be layered to provide other colour choices and the new LED lamp is smaller and lighter than the old UV one but it's round so can be hard to store in a trolley which are often square and narrow. By comparison Gel2 can be mixed to create other colours and they do a cordless rechargeable lamp which can help at clients homes when a plug socket is not close by.

With regard to a table, there are a few fold up options on the market, I would suggest having one as I know plenty of Geeks who have arrived to find the client has no table to work from. This then involves all sorts of contortions, kneeling....coffee tables.....standing at breakfast bars.......arms of armchairs, etc. none of which are particularly professional or good for your back/knees/neck/arms. If all else fails an ironing board can actually be a really good solution, they are adjustable in height, narrow and fairly stable but not ideal.

If you search 'mobile' on here you will find hundreds and hundreds of posts about mobile working, suggestions, ideas and solutions - happy reading

I do gel polish manicure and pedicures mobile. Is one of my most popular treatments :) I leave my other job next week and go full time woohoo can't wait! :)

I thought you meant uv gel, gelpolish isn't any harder for transportation, you take gelpolish colours instead of regular colours, I have a case just for colours, both regular and gelpolish
