Help and advice needed please

Hi can anybody help me please?

I have been mobile for many years and after being diagnosed with cancer my mum has helped me to set up a salon as I love to do hair so much it really does help to keep me positive and focused.. I really do not want to give up my work or the salon but I am really struggling.
I have 3 rooms and the availabilty to rent out to hairdressers, nail technician and also beautician yet all I have found is people who simply wont work as a team or pay me the rent due.. I am not asking for a lot of rent.. I just want enough that between everyone the rent and the bills can be met.. The problem I am having is that due to my health I can not be at the salon full time so nobody seems to care less. They just come in on odd days and will not work as a team.. I appreciate that they are self employed but Im sure if I was there more often things would be different. .. I am wondering if anyone has advise onhow I can find someone who is willing to rent oneof the rooms but also manage the salon for me ..to keep eye on things and maybe if they are interested help me with my extensions.. The rent would be vey reasonible.. I just need to find the right person who would like such an opportunity..any suggestions are greatly appreciated

I feel this is quite a difficult post to answer, unless someone other than you has a vested interest very few will look at your salon in the same way as you do. That said you may be better off considering employing someone to manage your salon and work with you, but this again comes down to salary, self motivation, hard work and business acumen from the employed member of staff. I do not understand the self employed route 100% but as far as I am aware the premises is purely rented by them and they control their hours, insurances/ clients etc. Seeing as they work for themselves am I correct in thinking they wouldn't be so interested in working/helping you as they have to make their own living? I think maybe you need to decide if you can cope with the stress of all this if you are poorly as your health is more important, once you are better you may be in a better position to focus again. I wish you well with your decision and that you make a full and speedy recovery. x

Thank you so much for your reply and advise and kind comments. Much appreciated. I tgink if I had the right people in to rent it would help as they only want to work one or two days and wont agree to me having others in on the days they are not there or are even willing to work any extra to help me.. I just wanted to keep things going to help me stay focused and positive but like you said the stress of it is not worth it ,, thank you anyway for yor time <3 xx
