Hi,

I'd love some help from a more experienced colorist. I toned my baby blue hair with Redken Gloss 6T, hoping for a dark gray. It turned green. I went to a salon and they "corrected" the green using a Wella silver toner and color remover. At first it was dark gray, dull, but still gray. However, after a wash, my hair is a dull ashy blonde. I have toned with Redken before (7t and 9t half and half) and got a light silver gray, which faded platinum. My hair is damaged so I wouldn't do a full bleach at the moment. How can I correct this blonde back to gray?

Hi Claire, thanks for your answer. I have done a bleach bath on the baby blue prior to toning which brought it to a very pale 10 with few blue undertones. I am not a hair professional but have been coloring my own hair for over 10 years. This, however, happened after a professional correction and considering my toning job only had green undertones and now I'm basically blonde, I'd like to try and fix it. I suspect that using a color remover was her mistake, but I'm not positive as I never used them.

Hi Claire, I am not sure if Olaplex is widely available here in the Netherlands but I'll try to get some. And I indeed would like to get a steel grey, which I have succesfuly done twice using Redken shades EQ. I believe the salon lady corrected my color using a Wella Color Fresh 8/81 toner. I was trying to get away with not doing a bleach bath but I guess I will have to bite the bullet. Once again, thanks for your help.
