I had my hair dyed red the other day, from bleach blonde, it didnt take all over dye to the damage done to my hair, ive just washed it now and its all pink! ARGH it looks a right mess, what can i do? im not booked in at the hair dressers for another 3 weeks :(

Feel like i could cry  should have done with my OH said and stayed blonde, if i had known it would have gone like this i wouldnt of had it done :(

What can i do to make it red? ive got the dye my hairdresser used, should i dye it again? will it take?

you have to go to a professional these arent colour to be doing diy xx

My hair dresser used rusk hair colours mixed with 6% not a DIY box.

I have the colours here as i bought them so i could get the shade i wanted.

Just ordered some Manic panic hair dye as i have used this on the blonde in the past and it stayed in, so im going to try and cover the pinky bits until my next appointment.

It's horrible when its our hair that goes wrong isn't it?
I'm not a hairdresser, just a lady who likes to be well groomed all the time:lol:Don't try to fix this yourself, you can not see the back of your own head, you do not have years of experience to alter what you are doing as you see the colour develope. It is possible as a non proffecional to damage your hair so badly that it breaks of when you wash the product of.
Did you have this done by your hair dresser or did you do it yourself?
The answer is the same anyway, which is phone you hairdresser explain to them that you have pink hair and need an appointment asap to sort it out.
I only ask because if your hair dresser did the work then the repair work should be free and they should be horrified that it happened.
If you did it, well, when I did it, I told the hairdrsser it was ok to laugh, so long as they fixed it and NO PHOTO'S!!!

Please please don't do this, the more you dye, bleach, etc your hair the more porus it becomes, your hair dresser did this, so your hair dresser needs to fix it, not in 3 weeks, now! or tomorrow and not after you have added another product which may also go patchy.

Thanks, i will ring her tomorrow dont like to bother her on a sunday, i am gutted it looks so bad.

My regrowth colour is lovely, just the rest is a mess.

I will have to see what she says, when she did it, she said the colour didnt take at the ends which it didnt properly, ive ordered manic panic semi colour as a last resort, i will have to see what she says but i can see me either having to pay for it again or go somewhere else to get it fixed.

Urgh i so want red hair :( used to have it years ago before going blonde and it always suited me more than any other hair colour.

Well! i thought stuff it, im not using the hair dresser again i had sooooo thought i would dye it myself and if it messed up id go to the hair dresser near me who does colour correction.

I used manic panic in vampire red, did a strand test first, then my whole head and i now have lovely red hair *yey*

Going to leave my hair alone for a while now and *try* and not have it cut for 10 weeks i want to let it grow!

Next on my list brazillian blow dry :D

I'm glad your colour came out ok in the end but if ^^^ that was the case in the end you more than likely would have ended up paying way more to have a colour YOU done corrected than having a pro do the colour in the first place. And if you'd said to the hairdresser who did it what happened surely they would have redone it for you? Or if you didn't want them touching it do they have a refund policy? Seems a bit odd if it's come out first wash :\

She messaged me but wanted me to pay to have it redone, ive learned my lesson and wont be having her again.

OH thinks its not her fault :S

I only used a semi on my hair which i know bleaches out really easily so if it had gone wrong the hair dresser could have stripped it out of my hair, ive used manic panic/directions sort of dyes before and they come out really easily.

Ive researched my next hair dresser more though and have choosen Dorothy Hammond Hairdressing - Hair Salon Sheffield

She is local to me and has amazing reviews :D

Hi, for a bright red I would recommend using manic panic or Special Effects (its so long lasting) rather than a permanent anyday. Permanents fade so quickly. Keep your base light and put these semis on top and you will have gorgeous bright red hair that lasts. Also use a non sulfate shampoo and stay clear on anti dandruff shampoos as they will strip the colour right out. Hope this helps.
