I have posted previously about this but having now read through some of the professional posts here I realize I've done even more of a stupid thing than I originally thought; having gone to a NSS I now reckon I've had ... don't shout at me ... MMA enhancements when I thought I was getting gel. This particular nail bar is used by lots of people I know so I thought it would be ok, looks like I was wrong. I'd really appreciate a Gloucester Geek who could recommend a good technician or salon who would be prepared to help me. For info, I've got to the stage where the tip that was added has grown out [I've been filing the free edge], on one nail the whole thing has lifted off and I managed to eventually soak it free but the remaining natural nail is very thin and bendy; the rest of the nails have about 1/2 cm of natural nail nail growing up. What's best? From what I've read a lot of professionals don't like having to remove these and ideally I think I'd prefer to grow them out as at least then I'm not having to deal with the damage as well and I am assuming my nails are probably too thin to take the weight of any new enhancement at the moment anyway. Please help!!:cry:

How do you know it was MMA they used?

I don't for sure, but having read through old posts on the professional part of this site I think it may be. Certainly wasn't a gel as I have now watched a video using NSI. It was a mixture - a brush dipped in liquid then into powder and brushed on. It's extremely hard also originally quite thick and does not soften after being soaked in polish remover just goes a little tacky.

where in gloucestershire are you? As you would be welcome to pop into where I am

I saw someone in quedgely that had very thin nails and my advice was to massage the matrix area to stimulate growth of your nail and not to think of having any enhancements on for a while - they needed a break.
