Hi
I'm over from beauty! My hair is in really rubbish condition all of a sudden and is very dry and snapping. I'm not sure what actually has caused this as it has always been ok. I was having bleach for a while but it was in good condition and not over processed. I'm looking to change my shampoo and conditioner to something that will help restore my hair. Any suggestions? I have heard about Nioxin is this something I should go for?
Thanks

Can you post a picture of your hair?
I know you say it's in good condition but how do you know this?
If you take a strand of hair and wet it and then stretch it, does it spring back when you let go or does it break?

What shampoo are you currently using?
Do you use any products containing silicone as this coats the hair making it feel soft but doesn't actually protect it from damage such as heat or over processing.

You need to work out what's causing the damage before you can determine the solution otherwise, it might lead to other problems such as protein build up etc.

Hi thank you. No it's not in good condition at all, it was but its not now! I was using wella range I think it was for dry hair, shampoo and a conditioning mask. I don't use heat protection spray and I straighten my hair every day. My hair is naturally curly. It's just gone like this the past three months. I haven't done anything differently or used anything different and haven't bleached for a while.

We don't know your age or personal situation...soooooooo....please excuse me on this lol...

Are you pregnant? Hormone changes can have a big detrimental effect on hair, as can the menopause...

I'm cringing as I type this, so I'm so so sorry if your a teen and not pregnant lol

As @KHS says above, it could be hormone related but it sounds like it's lacking moisture if it's naturally curly and you straighten it daily without any heat protector.
I'm also going to guess that your straighteners are set to a high temperature?

Sounds like you need to embrace the curls for a bit and find a style that requires less maintenance.

Definitely find a Salon that offers Olaplex treatments to treat the internal damage and also look for professional shampoos and deep conditioning masks that are moisturising.

I wonder if you were using protein based products as overdosing on protein can also lead to breakage?

Thanks everyone! KHS I'm 32 not too hormonal definitely not pregnant lol! Any recommendations for shampoo and conditioner range?

Moroccanoil hydrating shampoo and conditioner

Joico, Redken, Pureology, Kerastase all have a good range of moisturising shampoos.
