Hen party contract?

Not sure whether this is the right place. But I have been booked to do nails for a hen party. Now I want to send a contract of some sort with a cancellation fee just in case they decide to cancel. How much is normal to put down for it? 20% of the whole price ? How long before does the cancellation fee go ahead? If cancelled 2 weeks before? Thank you for your time.

I do a lot of Pamper events and require 50% of the total cost before the booking is considered confirmed. My cancellation policy is:
0-2 weeks prior to the event = 0 refund
2-4 weeks prior to the event = 50% of deposit
4+ weeks prior to the event = Full refund of deposit
Lots of events are booked 6months + in advance so it's a good system. I've found that the people who query the deposit or the terms tend to be the ones who are likely to mess you around or cancel on you.
