Hi, I'm new here, have been looking on this forum for a while now though, just wanted to say hello! I start my NVQ 1 to become a hairdresser in 3 weeks! Excited and terrified at the same time lol, any tips you could give me that I should know before starting? :) :) thanks,

Abi x

Hey welcome to your new home :p congrats in choosing the most artistic and creative career you could ever imagine! My tips would be : be confident, learn to laugh ....a lot, and ask and ask and ask questions and then ask some more! Ask everything from what a hair dryer is to how over direction works! Oh and good luck ! Keep us posted on how your getting on xx

Invest in a decent textbook or two before you start. Look on Amazon for recommendations.
Don't just rely on the notes from your college as some tutors are better at explaining the theory than others.

Hi, will be keeping an eye on this thread as I start my level 2 in a few weeks. I have not done level 1 as my college do not require it so just hoping i will be ok with having no knowledge about hairdressing

Hi :) I would have thought so, my college made me do level 1 cause I was home educated and "not clever" enough to go straight to level 2, everyone else started at level 2 though! xx
