2 Questions Geeks..... How many of you use hot wax for Hollywood / Brazilian waxing? and do you feel that a training course is necessary if you are a confident waxer in general but have never really done Brazilians?

I have only ever used warm wax, I've done thousands of Bikini lines (sides and a tidy underneath!) but not necessarily Brazilians but i get the impression it is a very popular treatment for a lot of you.

I'm in the same boat as you. I did a friend the other day who asked to 'go small' which I did no problem. I thought at the time that I'm about 3 strips away from a Brazilian. However after reading lots on here im definitely not prepared to go the whole hog without the correct training. There is a debate as to whether your insurance would cover you and I definitely want to use non strip wax and do it properly. The repeat business definitely stems from being a top therapist. I'm thinking that top training is my next stop!

I am in the same position as you and I'm currently looking into a specific day course for it as I don't think you are insured if your not trained ??

I must of posted at the same time as Vicky !!

When I started out, when Noah was a boy, if they showed it to you then you could wax it. Now it seems every body part is being singled out in different courses it has become necessary for you to do a course to obtain insurance. It's not a matter of if you think you could do it, which you probably could, it is a matter of getting the insurance for it in which you will need to do a course.

There are lots of courses around and I think I saw you are in Essex so Kim Lawless would probably be closest to you.

Personally I use strip wax for the outside edges and Adam and Eve hot wax for the bits in the middle and get an excellent finish. Some therapists use hot wax for the whole treatment and many(including me) can use the strip wax for the whole thing. It is good to train in both and then you can choose for yourself.:D

I was "in house trained" to do braziains etc in my old salon, i managed to do it, and had a few regular clients however i never felt overly confident. I emailed Kim Lawless training, and she's coming to Edinburgh in October so I'm DEFO booking on the training. x x

If you're 100% confident in your technique, then you don't need training......unless your insurers say you do. I have my own technique that I've developed and I use hot wax on the intimate area and strip on fine hair on the upper legs and butt cheeks (hot inside the butt).

If you're interested in using Perron Rigot, then go on one of their discovery days but it's so easy to use. I taught myself to use many years ago.

I've taught myself how to do brazilians. I do have the whole ball of wax DVD so that helped me greatly in giving me an idea of how to go about it. I only use PR non strip wax for intimate waxing. I'm pretty confident with my waxing though. Although I hate with a passion full leg waxing. My nemesis!

Try the PR roller system for legs. I love it.

Thankyou! Seems I need to check my insurance cover first and take it from there x
