Ok with reading on all of the different topics I'm beginning to think I am doing somthing wrong when applying nails so Im going to do a short description of what I do if there is anything I'm doing wrong can you tell me please.. :Scared:

1.prep the nails of course
2.Size the nails / file them to size etc
3.cut/buff/shape the nail
4.prime the natural nail plate
5.Apply the acrylic
6. set the acrylic for 4 mins
7.buff/and shape
8.add cuticul oil
9.varnish
10. nail art or finish

Well I have got my time down to 1 1/2 hours is this right? am i doing somthing wrong.

I havent ventured into different products as of yet because the course that I did builds a set up to start you off which I still have, Ive seen so many different things that i dont use

Thanks for looking

If yur not having any problems with yur nails Kelly i would carry on doing as yu are. Is it UV acrylic?...not used ths before

Hi hun I havent had any problems as of yet lmao and yes it's UV I find it so easy to use thanks for replying hun

As Debbie says, if you are not having any problems then don't worry.

You dont mention what brand of product you use? Please take a minute to fill in your profile so we have an insight into length of training, products used etc.

Some of the products mentioned on here are brand names so if you dont use the same brand then you will not use them but you should have something similar.

Your first point is prep the nails - as this is probably the most imporant step - what specifically do you do in this step.

As to time - there really is no set in stone "you must do nails in x hrs". It is better to do a great set of nails in 1.5 - 2 hours than an awful set of nails but they only took 45 minutes.

I think you're doing well no problems a set in 1 1/2 hours well done to you!
who did you train with?

Im not exactly sure on what products it is I'm using it all came in a kit

As for the prepping

I get the client to wash her hands with hand wash then let her use sanitizer then wipe the nail plate with some varnish remover :Scared: then buff the nail plate to take the shine off and if the nails are quite long I will trim them, I push the cuticle back and the prep is done by no means am I saying this is the correct way but this is how i was taught I was taught by http://WWW.e-nails.org/ in manchester and I completed this in July of this year.

Does it not have a brand name on it - I notice on their site they mentioned using products from their recommended suppliers - who are their recommended suppliers and we can maybe work out what you are using.

If you put e-nails into the search facility on here you will find a discussion from a while back.

all it says on the bottles and such is nail supplies the suppliers are actually in the same building as enails but ill take a look in the search area thanks hun

Can you get insurance after training with this company , just curious as some are more recognised than others.

Hiya Kelly
Nice to see you posting, but my worry on your prep is that you are not using a sanitiser, nail varnish remover should only be used for what is meant for hun, and you really need to get a good sanitiser to cleanse the nail plate prior to application.

I recommend you look to purchase a book such as Marian Newmans The Complete Nail Technican Vol 2 is only £21.99 and it will help you learn more, as will this site of couse
