Just curious as to how many polishes is enough to carry in your salon?

I have about 200, but I started with 30.
Sometimes clients tell me I have too many, that it makes it too hard to choose, but I think you need to have a large range because some people always stick to a certain range of colours (eg reds or purples) so I like to have a good varity in each colour.

We probably have about a hundred. This seems to be enough for our clients. We never have anyone saying there isn't enough choice. We have a smashing variety of colours and always update with the new seasons colours.

I have 12 at the moment as I am new to it and it can be really expensive. I have managed to get more or less one from each colour catagory and will continue to add when I can

I have around 100 ...

about 200 but some i use more than others

sorry meant to start a new thread - doh!

112 at the moment:green:

Wow, you all have a lot!

I have well over 200 but in my head I always think I need more. My clients never complain though.

I won't mention the duplicates I have hid away in a storage bin, I think it's an obsession.

I'd say i have about 80 different colours, but i don't carry all of them with me as i'm mobile and i only have two hands.

I have to say i carry about 50 with me and find they are enough for my clients needs, but i am a sucker for new colours.

im mobile and carry about 10... if im gouing to do a polish on a client i awlwats ask which colours they like and take a selection otherwise it's to much to lug around :) xx

I now have around 50, I bought a whole pile of new SpaRitual polishes a couple of weeks ago for a real bargain (stand included) and they look really nice in my little salon.

I have just had a sort out of my polishes at the weekend and have about 100.
Always looking at new ones tho!

I have about 60 different colours. I find that is plenty ! I think the more you have the longer it takes them to choose. I have been known to wait 20 mins before !!!

How long do these polishes usually last? I have some that last ages and then some that go all thick and gooey on me. I bought some a while back from a salon that was closing and paid like a buck for most. Some went on me faster than others tho.

Yep, thats what I have found about some but not all of mine.....I actually dont use enamel much as most of my clients have enhancement with nail art or french finish. I think that I really have too many enamels so am at this moment having a whole home salon clear out and binning all the ones that are imo past their sell by date.

Try to get a range. Reds, pinks, and funky colours green, blue etc.

Always include French and then add as you go along.

Each area has a different colour scheme so it depends on what is the trend in your area. I've worked in salons that only seem to do Devil Red, while in another red was never used, but mainly natural nude type colours.

It's a case of hit & miss until you understand your clientèle taste.
