How to colour match extensions

i am new to tape extensions and I have a client with blonde dyed hair but has dark roots. How do I match her hair? Do I use a plain blonde? Or balayage or can you get rooted extensions?

I would go for the Balayage colour and match there mid length to ends and if your having trouble then match the colour to there ends xxxx

The darker roots have caused a few issues when you cant always get the root coloured extensions and when you can the ranges arent big enough to cover all requirements. If you are taking the hair darker you can dye extensions.....it's just not advisable to lift them. Obviously when you have prebonded hair also (not just tapes) its difficult because even if you colour the root of the hair the bonds will still be light. We would always recommend that you match the mid lengths to ends of the hair as that is where the natural hair falls over the extensions ad that is where you need to avoid the colour difference
