How to get from dark brown to blonde?

My natural hair is dark brown, (#2 on a hair extension colour ring if that helps any) and I would really like it blonde. I used to have highlights and it got really light but with the regular highlights the ends got really dry in some places so I went back to dark brown.

My question is, could I not just have all my hair

...... bleached and then when the roots come through I'll only need roots doing with bleach rather than bleach on bleach on bleach which is the case with highlights.

When you have highlights you shouldn't be having bleach on bleach all the time. You will need to have a colour stripper to remove the dark colour and highlights put through every few weeks to gradually get lighter and lighter x

If you are going down the dark to blonde root I would also recommend using salon quality shampoo and conditioner(if you are not already doing so) and also a mask to use once a week to keep your hair healthy. And as said before only the root should have been done not the whole length of the highlight
