Hey guys,

I'm Nancy,

I went from brown hair, to blonde in October, and it's a blast, but on my last touch up, my hair started to break off, and now most of my hair towards the front of my head is an inch long, and I look ridiculous, so I've bought some of those headbands footballers wear to try and keep them down...
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to grow this out / what to ask for to make it less noticable that my hair is growing out, as it's quite a light blonde with very very dark roots, but I don't want to put any more chemicals on my hair because I cannot deal with anymore breakage.
Can anyone reccommend any temporary dyes without peroxide and bleach? Anything to kind of... make some kind of gradient from the blackness of the root and the lightness of the length <--- See, I don't even know what I'm talking about.

Please help me, I am DESPERATE!

Only bleach can lighten hair but it sounds like you’ve overlapped it and/or used too strong a bleach solution on it.
(Blonde box dyes contain bleach chemicals.)
I wouldn’t wear a band over it as anything stretching across it will cause tension and lead to further breakage. Without seeing it, it’s difficult to advise so your best bet is to discuss with your hairdresser so they can see and test the strength of the hair. Olaplex treatments will help strengthen the remaining hair.

Thank you,
I've spoken to the hairdresser who did it, and when I mentioned the breakage she said I must 'brush my hair like a monster', and it's in such a bad way that I'm embarrassed to go anywhere about it

P.s, I should have mentioned, I didn't do this myself, this was actually done by a hairdresser

In that case, it might be worth visiting another hairdresser for a second opinion. Harsh brushing will cause some damage but without seeing it, assuming it’s very bad, it sounds more like chemical damage to me.

Second the idea of getting another opinion.

You'd be better off darkening your hair to match the roots rather than trying to get it to match what's left of the blonde. You could also always cut your damaged hair off and start fresh. That look is very popular right now, so you could say you did it on purpose rather than trying to cover up the mistake!
