How to keep honey in my hair?!

Hey Hair Geeks,

I recently had very white blonde hair and wanted it to look more naturial so put a honey colour on it, it turned out lovely but after a coulpe of washes it fades lighter

Can any1 tell me why this is happening and how i can try and keep the honey in my hair?
