Hi all. I don't have a lot of experience in doing nails and I do full set or infill in 2.5 hours I am filing for 1 hour and I don't know how to speed up :( I feel that I am losing clients because I do them for too long :( I do maybe 4 full sets per month and I know it's not enough to get more experience :( what do you think how many full sets per week I should do to get more experience and speed up? Sometimes I am thinking of giving up :(

If you're spending a long time filing I would suggest look at your application - make sure your application is perfect so then you won't have to file to get them into a good shape.

Try to break the service down into time slots for example if you were aiming to do Infills in an hour and a half think of it as three stages:
1: polish removal, reducing length/reshaping, removing lifted acrylic, prep. (30 mins)
2: Acrylic application (30 mins)
3: Smoothing Acrylic and application of polish or gel polish (30 minutes)

Gradually as your experience increases you will get faster at these things, your Acrylic application will improve and prep will become better and faster - meaning at the next appointment there will be no lifting to deal with!

Practice makes perfect and don't forget no one becomes an amazing nail tech over night [emoji173]

You could always take a course to learn to use an e-file . Work on application first though.

Thank you for your answers :) I will try to break the service down into time slots :) I use an e-file but still manage to spend 1 hour filing

I was the same. I hated infills and removals.
My time only reduced once I had back to back appointments which takes time.
I did my efile training a year ago yet I'm still overly cautious. I always finish hand filing.
If you enjoy it don't give up. It takes a while to master enhancements.
Advertise, post pics on social media, do friends and family and ask them to post pics and tag you. You need to work as much on advertising as you do in nails initially.

Thank you :) I really enjoy doing it and I don't want to give up :) I am trying to advertise on facebook and I get new clients, just when I do for so long they don't come back :(

Recently, my times have been reducing to where I more want them to be. Mainly I believe due to the fact that I can now apply accurately so filing is minimal. They always say 'apply don't like you don't have a file to fix it' and that's just clocked up to experience :) everyone starts off slow!

Practise and make sure your primary focus is on doing it right. Speed will come with repetition.
