Just to answer this question:

why did they make a top-coat that says "UV absorber to prevent yellowing and guard against fading and discoloration".

I have picked up some realy funky colours that where shall we say cheap, but I got them because it was a colour was just so right, if you know what I mean......
Now the colour stability wasn't that great, it faded and discoloured if I used a generic shall we say again, cheap Top coat, but applying CND Shiney or Speedy it gave me colour stability, as would any of the other CND top coats.
I also retail these, so clients who just pick up a colour from where ever (Market Stall LOL aso can, at least be sure that the colour stay true if they use my CND top coat.

So it does make sense to me LOL xxxxx
