Hi everyone,

I've been using Ibx recently with good results, but I'm yet to use it under gel polish. I'm doing my mums nails tomorrow and I've been treating her natural nails with Ibx as she has some splitting but she wants gel polish as going on hol. My question is, I assume all the usual prep for gel polish needs to be done so after the final cleanse of Ibx, do I then remove shine and use ph prep as normal?Or will this undo any good that it has done? I couldn't see on the notes in the pack what was advisable.

Thanks X

Apply IBX on the nails before anything else, then do your cuticle work etc. It's sealed into the nail so it will carry on working.

I do all the cuticle work first and filing and buff the shine off (as I use Gelish) then I cleanse do the IBX treatment and then cleanse and start the Gelish ph bond and so forth x

If you're buffing after IBX you're going to be removing some of it. Many people use Gelish very successfully without buffing, why don't you try it?

That's why I do the above as I was advised it would remove some of the IBX .... I have tried on a few clients with no buffing with Gelish, some it works for some it doesn't, it's too inconsistent for me

I'm sure they said if you use any products before IBX it doesn't work so well.

Am I wrong?.

I don't use any products before apart from cleanse, I just do the cuticle work and filing.... the ph bond etc is all after IBX still

You need a clean nail plate free of all debris and oil so the IBX can penetrate properly. This is why all prep is done after the full IBX treatment.

Thanks pure, I would but I've not done it without bugging before and not applied gelish for my mum before now and as she's going away I know she would be disappointed if it didn't last so I don't want to risk it x

I get great results from my IBX clients using this method, I just make sure it's cleansed thoroughly before starting Gelish.
And make sure you use the repair on every nail if it's to go under gel polish as well :)

Thanks..next question!! As I've only been using it in natural nails so far I've used repair on specific areas only. As now will be doing in whole nail, do I have to do the treatment twice on those that have not had the despair before? They have all had the usual Ibx just not all had repair as well. Thanks xx

You only do the repair once but cover every nail with it. And heat for 1 min as normal :)

Great thanks x
