Interview -Beauty Therapy
pls I need advice what to wearing on my 1st interview "ever" . I said "ever" as it is my 1st interview in Australia ( I am from overseas).
Should I wear a heels or not ?? Flat ( office) shoes will be enough or not??
I have a study full time C 3 in Beauty Cervice 2y ago but I haven't seeking for a job as 2 months later I give a birth. Now I am enrolled in Diploma in Beauty Therapy but for complete my course I need to do 130 h of work into salon.
My question is : do I have to dress up for the interview as a "real interview " or I have to go on a school uniform as the interview is to get the " trainer job" .
(I have pass phone interview as I was recommended by commune friend.)
I am afraid that my Eanglish as a second language will not be good enough for proving my abilities.
Thank you in advance
Mona

I think treat every meeting like this as if it were a job interview. You need to make the employer feel like they would want to have you working for them after all if they do have you working in their salon you are a reflection of them. So always dress smartly as if going for an interview but make sure you are comfortable, minimal jewellery, natural makeup

@mona serban always go to an interview as you would an office executive interview, heals are fine yes, smart, hair and make up done, nails nice.

Think of it like this, if you went for a job as a nurse, you wouldn't go in a nurses uniform.

Wishing you the very best of luck let us know how you get on :)

You don't have to go in heels some smart office shoes will be absolutely fine :) I love heels but if your not comfortable wearing them then don't, just go in there be confident, positive always! and be you. Its a good idea to have some questions that you may want to ask them at the end of the interview

And do not panic easier said than done I know but just take a few deep breaths before you go in :)

This is a bit of topic but why are you doing a cert IV and a diploma? The subjects in Cert IV are covered in the diploma. How would i know? Because i teach it. Where are you studying? Maybe look in to that because its not right.

Personally I like to wear a black dress to an interview but thats with heels but again your going for an interview so naturally you will be nervous so just wear something that you are most comfortable with that way you can just focus on being calm

Honestly, as long as you are comfortable and reasonably smart, you just need to focus on creating a confident impression. Flat shoes are fine unless you were going for an interview as a catwalk model, lol.

Good luck. :)
