Interview - renting a room

I have an interview today with regards to renting a room within a hairdressing salon.

I have been asked to take in my certificates and been told if this goes well they will ask me in next week for a trade test.

What do I wear? As I would be renting the room and self employed, so will a salon uniform be needed or just go smart / casual .any advice given will help me loads as I'm so nervous X

When I went for my interview for room renting I wore something smart. But either will be fine I am sure. I now have my own salon set up and I don't always wear the tunics as I find them really hot, especially during the summer so I wear something smart to work in. Usually in black or white.

When I went to look at my room I wore smart clothes. Although she didn't do a trade test. But I would wear my tunic if was doing a trade test and I always wear it now x

something smart today and uniform for trade test, they are looking at you as if you are representing their salon. It doesnt matter that you would be self employed you are still a part of the salon ...good luck xx

Don't forget, this is as much about whether you feel this is the right place for you as whether you are the right candidate for them.

Definitely, check if they are ok with you popping in and out (some aren't) and taking holidays!!x

I decide on beige trousers with a black vest and black suit jacket in the end.

From what I could tell the manager had no idea on the beauty side. She had salon brought for her in January and has been running it since. She was very pleased with everything I could offer and has asked me back for a trade test next week.

She has said If the beauty side takes off she will pay for me To go on a eyelash course and waxing courses. Everything in the room she will let me have, rather chuffed as there is an OPI LED lamp

I have agreed on my hours and days. She has said if I have holiday just to block it out in the book a few weeks before.

So I'm really pleased and think it went well x
