Hi,
I have a super steam generator iron, and I still hate doing it, usually watch TV in my bedroom when ironing ...........only way I can get through it.
I know I will have "arrived" when I can afford an ironing lady or be able to afford to take it all to an ironing shop...............until then suppose just have to drag myself along..........better do some now.......got nothing to wear. Hubby.......wouldn't let him touch any of mine!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen the mess he has made when he has had a go on his own stuff.
But I did teach both my sons how to iron when they were about 12 years old, I think all boys should be taught.........it's not just a girl's job.
Lotsa luv
x

I fold it all up neatly....put it in a binbag and ring a man.....and he brings it back the next night on hangers ironed.....like magic:lol:
I'd rather clean toilets than iron:eek:

It very important that children are taught the basics of life and living which unfortunatley does include ironing.

trouble with boy's...they grow into men and subsequently our feet get far to large to get close enough to the ironing board...or is that the kitchen sink :lol:

I HATE ironing !!

Can't think of anything worse to do around the house :irked:

We used to take all our clothes to a very nice ironing lady, but sadly, with having to watch the pennies, it's back to me doing the ironing.

I bought a iron press about a year ago and even though it does a fabulours job, it's difficult to navigate and I've never gotten used to it.

Lately, I've been looking at the steam generator irons and even watched when they advertised one on QVC or Ideal living and thought the results were good. But at £70 - £100, it's a lot of money !!

When I iron shirts, I do the collar first, then the shoulders, then the sleeves and then the body (side, back, side). Find if you do it that way and not the body first, the body doesn't crease again when you do the sleeves.

I use to do ironing for a living so dont mind ironing at all !!, I do collars, then sleeves then the shirt,i use a squirty bottle aswell. I found that if i used the nice smelling water you put in iron's,it made the clothes harder to iron.

Same here, I hate ironing so its one of the luxuries that my husband treats me too (or him too as its mainly his shirts that gets ironed!)

Although if I did iron a shirt.. I would pull the back straight and iron below the colar at the top of the back, then the colar, then the cuffs, sleeves, back then fronts.

I DESPISE ironing!

I buy clothes that don't need to be ironed, and if I have a few wrinkles in something I usually throw it in the dryer for a few minutes-presto-wrinkles gone!

Seriously, I can think of so many things that I'd rather do with my time....

So do these super duper steam generator irons actually make a difference ?

Are clothes easier to iron even if they are really wrinkled ??

I can't say i like ironing, i need to be in the mood for it! I don't like my hubby doing it cos it's not done right by my standard:green: Anyhoo! I do reverse of the collar, then shoulders, then sleeves, front and back and hey presto just perfect! I have to admit a get great satisfaction when i see the big pile of freshly, neatly ironed clothes. OOOh yeah:green: (Sorry i am getting carried away:lol:)
