HEY SALON GEEKS!

NEED SOME ADVICE AND BEEN TOLD VERY DIFFERENT STORIES ABOUT 'STRIPPING' HAIR VIA FRIENDS AND GENERAL SALONS.

DOES IT GO TO YOUR NATURAL COLOUR OR DOES IT JUST LIGHTEN YOUR HAIR?

IS IT BLEACH?

MANY PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME ITS JUST BLEACH THEY USE AND CHARGE AN ARM AND A LEG AS THEY SAY ITS 'STRIPPING' YOUR HAIR BUT THEN AFTER IT THEY PUT DYE ON TOP OF THAT TO GET YOUR DESIRED HAIR COLOUR.

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED :)

There are colour strippers or they may use a bleach bath, it depends on what they are trying to remove - it will not go back to your natural colour - this has been permanently altered the dye isn't just sitting on top of your natural colour( i'm assuming its a permanent dye).
colour correction is a very complicated proceedure and quite unpredictable depending on what is on the hair in the first place.
Once the hair is stripped, it has to be re-pigmented before then being dyed the correct colour and depending on the condition of the hair i.e how many times that ends of the hair have been subjected to a chemical process, will also have an impact on how long the new colour lasts as badly damaged hair doesn't hold colour well. hope this helps explain.
