Is "luxury mani/pedi" a separate course to "mani/pedi"?

I hope this isn't a daft question.

I did my mani/pedi course quite a while ago, it was good but didn't cover things like scrubs and masks.

Tbh I barely do anything with natural nails these days but would like to start pushing this side of he nail market.

Do I need to do a separate course if I want to offer luxury manis/pedis including a nice smelling scrub and mask or is my basic mani/pedi certificate enough?

Wondered what you all do.

I did luxury at college but I'm sure my certificate just stated manicure and pedicure

Your certificate will state that you have passed the units of manicure and pedicure. If it was VTCT, btec or city & guilds etc you are qualified to do luxury treatments. Their syllabus states that you should study and be assessed in the techniques of scrub, hot oil, paraffin wax& masks.

If you didn't study the luxury techniques
1. They didn't fully cover the unit content with you or
2. Your certificating company didn't include it in their course.

Who is the awarding body who issued your mani pedi certificates ?

I haven't had my certificates out for years, will look when I get home (last time was when I did my shellac course 5 years ago lol

I certainly didn't DO any of those luxury treatments you've stated so I'm guessing not

Thanks

Mine just state manicure and pedicure however I learnt luxury as part of that as that what where I learn offer. I know luxury as the same as a normal manicure but with a mask with heated booties. Same as pedicure

I would imagine your insurers would be satisfied if you provided a certificate of attendance at a product training session . It would just be an enhancement of your existing qualification - a bit like doing environ facial product training.

I have 2 certificates; one for mani/pedi and the other for luxury mani/pedi which covered masques, paraffin wax and scrubs [emoji4]

Check with your insurers. It was a different treatment but mine took into account all my qualifications and experience when I asked about treating pregnant clients x

Who did you do your trading with? Did it cover hard skin removal and contraindications? They would be my main areas of concern but so long as they were covered you should be fine.
