I have been watching tons of YouTube Videos on shaping coffin nails. Im getting so frustrated because it looks so much easier than it actually is. I keep getting a nail that is uneven on one side. Does anybody know how to get the perfect coffin shape without fiing too much off of one side?

I do a stiletto then blunt the tip x

I have the same problem.

I can never get it right either [emoji23][emoji85]

I cut each side of tip with nail clippers to minimise amount of filing then file from underneath get them even every time. I prefer to call them ballerina nails.

I found this to be too rounded.

I tend to keep my file more upright when doing coffin shaped than I do with a stiletto.

Stiletto I file more underneath and round whereas coffin is a 90°angle straight down...

Very hard to explain! :o

Yes I know what you mean, my coffins are probs a bit less coffin like lol

just go slowly when you're filing.. I find it helps to flip the hand over to look at the nail from under between filing

Have you tried drawing a small line in the middle at the tip and then slowly filing? :)

I like to call them ballet shaped, sounds much more appealing, & my clients get a better idea of the shape with this name! I tend to do a square then taper it in at an angle towards the tip if that makes sense!?
