Hi, i have just started renting a chair in a salon, i have a few clients just now but may have an opportunity to work in a salon in a saturday aswell. I would like this for experience but would this work? any suggestions? Thank you!

HI,Glad to hear you have a few clients now....and its only been a couple of weeks, what days do you rent I thought it was Friday's and Saturdays?
Others on the site might be better to advise on this, but I would have thought you would be shooting yourself in the foot, by working for yourself 1 day and as an employee the next......
what if one of your Friday regulars wants a repair on a Saturday?....you don't want all your clients coming on a Saturday when you just get an hourly rate ...you want them to come to you when most of what they pay comes to you don't you?
All I am saying is it could be a bit confusing............but lets see if anyone else has done this and if it worked for them.........

You'd need to check with the owners of the salon you're currently working in as it might be a conflict of interests. If for example the other salon in close to the other one, they might not like it. x
I get your points, it would be stupid if someone was needing a saturday and i was working elsewhere. Its just that i am only working a monday and friday at the moment but have only been booked up on a friday so far. I have three in tomorow but maybe i should wait to see if i do get buisier. Dont think it will be a good idea then.

You have only been renting there for a couple of weeks, be patient, word is obviously getting round, and I am sure you will be getting bookings for other days as well.......I always found Saturdays to be a funny day for bookings....either a famine or a feast.......Does your salon not do a late night on a Thursday, you will get the mon-Frid workers wanting an evening appointment, if you worked then, HTH
