Hi there, had great lengths put in Wed evening and salon matched up blonde to lightest blonde in my hair but now my own coolur is looking very warm and actually looks like I have extensions in....can I use touch of silver and do the extensions kinda blends in after first wash?

I'd go back to them first - great lengths is normally expensive and once u have tried to colour / tone the extensions urself if it goes wrong they will say it's your own fault.
Silver shampoo is normally fine but one or my clients used it once and the extensions went purple on the ends.. Hair extensions are really unpredictable X

Make sure you tell clients if they using silver shampoo that the hair is completely wet before shampooing I made that mistake but only a slight lilac tinge!

OP is it just your natural that's on top that you are wanting to touch with silver shampoo? If it is I would suggest doing an over the bath wash and sectioning your hair and clip pinging the extensions at the back/nape of your neck so then you've only got your hair which would be like your parting and crown?

I would also recommend a professional product the silver shampoos you can buy from boots can be quite drying on the hair and if you are to use it on your extensions in a few weeks you don't want them affected x

Yes its just the top layer needing lightened as I'mnot keen on warm tones and us really noticeable.... I'm dreading first wash as I've never had extensions before, think I may try separating the hair and just work on top layer.

Does silver shampoo affect tint? As I have ombre too x

No only work on yellow blondes just separate the hair and just do your natural like I said over the bath if you have a shower head you can do it that way! What aftercare advice did your extensionist advise you to follow? Also is it bonds micro rings or a weave you've got?

Ok thank you....I wouldn't say it's yellow just lots of warmth against cool colour of extensions. They are bonds....I've been told to use a tangle teaser or soft cushioned brush when wet don't let my hair naturally dry and not to use silicone shampoos, I did ask about silver shampoo and said it was fine but I do like to come here for other opinions.

Try and get a professional branded one so its not as drying to the extensions but make sure your hairs fully wet before you even out them on the extensions so a good couple of minutes under the shower head or on a second shampoo!

Try your natural hair first with silver shampoo then see how it looks if it doesn't look any better I would contact her x
