Hello Geeks!
I am just looking for some advise! I am 21 and have previous salon experience from when I was 15-16 as a junior (long story short, I started an apprenticeship after school but just didn't think I could hack it at 16, so quit after 5 months, silly mistake!) I have just qualified my level 2 at college and am not sure what to do now.. my tutor was saying she thinks rent a chair would be a good idea for me but I'm just not sure! I think I would like to get a job as a Stylist working for someone else rather than Rent a Chair as I just don't feel confident enough yet and I'm just not sure how that works?? If any one has advise or guidance please throw it my way :)
Em x

Id try and get a job as a stylist first rather than rent a chair. Rent a chair is good for when you have a regular client base as what happens is the money is sometimes split 50:50 or another percentage with the owner or you pay them a certain amount a week so if your not busy you could lose money personally I would work for some one for a bit first if you can to experience :) well done on sticking at it the second time around x

Thank you for replying I think your right, I'm thinking it would boost my confidence to be able to watch other stylists in a working salon and not be thrown in the deep end straight away :) x

Your welcome. It can be hard seeing as you are fresh out of college and didn't do an apprenticeship but stick at it. Build up your confidence on friends / family and they might even recommend you to other people too x
