Hi Folks,

I recently qualified as a VTCT Nail Tech in Creative Products and was now wondering how do I keep up with the ever changing industry standards.

I seem to have finished my course and have nowhere to go or no-one to ask when a situation arises that I dont feel confident in or just need a second opinion (except for you guys of course, but my internet has recently been down for a week so I wasnt able to ask for opinions when the situation arised)

As I did not train direct with Creative my products are supplied by One Stop Nail Shop so not even sure if I can ring Creative for advice?

Any help would be apreciated.

First of all, WELL DONE!!

I am not sure what OSNS you are using, but I know that my nearest in Glasgow has staff that are fully trained nail technicians, also there are Education Ambassadors there and any queries can be answered.

When I first set up my own business, I felt very isolated (No geek site then!!) and the way I sorted that was by subscribing to trade mags (Professional Nails then Scratch) and I also travelled to my OSNS to buy my stock rather than mail order. That way I got to chat with the girls there and discuss the things and people I was reading about in the mags!!
I do also advise my students to keep in touch with each other, to swap stories of how they are getting on out their in the real world after training.

If you have qualified and have a Creative Nail Design certificate and are on the database to buy products at the OSNS....then of course the whole Creative family is there to help you!!!....and all the geeks..........

Thank you Isabel - Felt at a loss when the internet was down and couldnt ask any of the Geeks.

In the end I advised the lady in question to seek medical advice - think she may of had a bacterial infection. Lets just hope she gets it checked out and comes back o me once it has cleared up.

I know what you mean.....I had workmen in today working in my nailroom/study and had no access to my computer for over 2 hours!!!!!

I don't know what literature you got with your course. but the Creative Foundation Manual certainly tells you how to spot & deal with a bacterial infection or greenie! if you can't access the tutorial on this site.
