Hi there

I got asked if I could do a party yesterday but unfortunately it is 5 hours from home so I decided to say no.!! DAM!

Anyway I am going to try and tap into this market and have the following ideas of what I can do when I am there; just wondered what you thought and if there are any major ideas I could be missing???

Hair straightened, crimped or tonged/with glitter spray

Make up (for older children)

Face painting (for younger children)

Nail art

Mini facials for older girls
Nail shape and file

Temporary tattoos

Party bag with hair accessory, item of make up etc.
I am not sure if I am taking too much on being on my own so I would try and get another girl to work with me - if I got a booking, of course.

Any ideas would be helpful

Plus how much should I charge??

Thanks fellow geeks for your advice!!

IMO I would really struggle to offer everthing on your list especially if you are going to be on your own. Do a search on nail art / pamper parties there have been some great threads on here with regard to parties.

Good luck hun x

I picked up a leaflet recently, there are two ladies doing childrens party's, they do glitter in the hair, mini facials and make up, nail art, temporary tattoos (think thats one for the boys though) and cocktails! thought the cocktails were a good idea, if you got some fancy plastic glasses and mixed up some funky coloured drinks, blue red etc, you could put them in a lemonade bottle and they are ready to serve with a cherry on a stick or something, bet they would LOVE that!! they also offered funky music and party bags, think they charged £120 for 10 children....

Dont think its something I would want to do on my own, I would ask for help from a fellow geek! x

Thanks! ! Like the idea of a cocktail but I'd make a right old mess!!I have a lady in mind to ask but she is not a geek but very into girly things so i am sure she'd be fine. I'd pay her a wage and keep some of the profit!!

You must be brave! I don't think I could do kids parties, I'd be tearing my hair out if they wouldn't sit still.

How would you go on with insurance for something like pamper parties? Do you need training to offer things like make up & face painting?
