I have included the quote from one of your threads regarding the importance of prepping ..........

Since I watched that gorgeous little girly Amanda Fontanarrosa prepping my nails last week, I've become a prep junky. The penny has finally dropped that the more time spent prepping, the less time spent sorting out lifting and other problems at the infill/re-balance appointment.

So Please Kimmy tell all of us who are having problems with lifting exactly what Amanda did that was so different, that made you into a prep junkie. Also how long would you say it took her to prep on hand. All the imformation you give us will be very beneficial and will stop us all 'skelping' away and yet still getting lifting. (did you like that skelping bit)?

Thanks
Val

Oh my Gawd PMSL...............it's not skelp, it's SCHLEP. This is gonna be hard work isn't it?

Ok, what Amanda taught me was just how important it is to get every tiny bit of debris off the nailplate. She removed all the cuticle thoroughly, and went round the side walls with a probe (a tool) to make sure there weren't and stowaways. Then she gave each nail plate a good old rub with Scrubfresh. She also taught me the importance of something quite simple................just look and see. Don't just assume that it's all off.

I asked Amanda how long prep should take and she said that it shouldn't take more than 20 mins. I did a thorough prep and a full set of tips and acrylics yesterday for a friend and they took me 1hr 10mins. I'm not saying that they were wonderful coz I've still go so much to learn and perfect.................but I'll get there. One thing I do know though is that my prep was very good.

Hope that helps sweetie. xxx

I think the best thing I have learned from this site is the scrubfreshing part, this has made such a difference to my lifting problems - lifting problems? What lifting problems lol? I'm a prepper not a schlepper!

BTW Kimmi I think Val was taking the rise out of the mispronunciation! But it's got us all talking prep!

SCHLEP
SCHLEP
SCHLEP
SCHLEP
SCHLEP

ok I've got it now. Not taking the rise I promise, not bright enough to do that. Have tried in the past and I always get it wrong and offend someone.

Thanks for the prep info, much appreciated.
