kind of red hair, can i put semi over it?

I had my hair coloured the other day from blonde to red, BUT because the ends of my hair where damaged, its not really taken, so looks really washed out.

I was wondering if i bought a semi permanent hair dye like Directions or manic panic, can i put this one and cover the washy bits or should i wait 4 weeks for my next colour?

If i did put a semi on my hair, when my hair dresser uses the Rusk colour will it make a difference? i dont want to do it, if it will make it turn out funny.

Also in America you can buy protein colour fillers, do we sell things like that over here?
