I'm trained with nsi, love the gel not so keen on the acrylic, so I've been looking at the asp one. Does anyone have any reviews on it please?
I've used the salon system one too which is nice but find its abit grainy. Any reviews would be very helpful. Tia x

Generally you get what you pay for. I'd go for a higher end product.

I've tried both the systems you have while training and didn't realise how horrible they were to work with until I tried ink Londons acrylink which applies and files like a dream!!!

ASP is s bit of a budget range if I'm honest! What is it about the L&P exactly, could it perhaps be your ratio, getting your mix right makes the product go on like a dream! Like attitude says you get what you pay for, I once was made to use some awful products when I first started training, & when it was cold, the product used to crystallise then you could literally just buff it off..... terrible stuff!! I would go for a few higher end trial packs (which isn't massively expensive to do) & try & find a system that you like. X

Yeh I know what you mean, I really wanted to stick with nsi but I just don't get on with it. I get a bit worried about all these new ones I like to stick with products I know and that I can buy local to me. It maybe is my ratio but I use the same brush and same technique with both products and I find nsi sets too fast for me whereas the salon services one not fast enough lol the salon services one is terrible to file too. Should I try and stick with nsi or get some trial packs?
Thanks for your help ladies xx

Fluffy22 I was half asleep reading that then haha that's what I will do thank you, could you please recommend a few to try? Xx

You can get slower setting liquids if your not a quick worker. Listen don't get worried, new products come out on the market all the time, that's just the industry we're in! Think of it as going to the supermarket & there's a million varieties of bread to choose from. 99% of the time you choose the same one, now & again you may try a different loaf, but you'll probably always go back to your favourite in the end!! I'm a CND girl, I use retention+ for my L&P there is also a liquid called radical which is slower setting. Good luck! X

No I'm not a quick worker, takes me two hours to do a full set. Some clients appreciate that I take my time to do a good job but others I can feel getting restless towards the end and I start getting worried about losing their custom and rush through the buffing (which is impossible with the sallys one) I'm a natural worrier lol I'm newly qualified so everything is a bit overwhelming at the minute I love cnd shellac I don't think anything else compares so I might look into that, would I have to do some sort of conversion course for acrylics? Thanks so much for your help xx

I use Nsi and love it. We were told at college that it was used it's slower setting therefore good to train with but I think it's one of the quicker ones I've tried which suits me.
I've also tried Acrylink and it's nice to work with and file but it was too slow setting for me but you'd have much more time with work with it if that's what you're finding difficult. X

I find nsi sets faster than some, I work quite fast and like the first one to be ready to file as soon as I've Infilled the 10th

I wouldn't say it's budget!

I think I'm going to give nsi another go, it may just be my ratio. It's what I'm trained with so I want to use it, practise makes perfect ey! Thanks girls xx

Hey blossom I don't know if the budget comment was mentioned in regards to what I posted, but the OP was talking about trying the asp Range & that was what my budget comment was about xx

Mine as well.

Update... Today I went and bought the nsi sample kit and the precision brush, big improvement. I think it may have been the brush I was using but also my ratio. I was given the nsi wooden one (don't know what it's called) with the kit I purchased through college and I didn't like it so I bought a cheapie which up until now I preferred. Love the precision brush!! Although I'm still having the issue with it setting too fast. I've just done a practise couple on my training hand and the difference is amazing although I didn't wait for one bead to totally soak so I've ended up with a white mark in one of the nails :( so I'm guessing this is my ratio? Although I'm doing exactly what I've been tought, burp the brush, swipe up the side of the dapper dish, flip the brush around and either drag or hold in the powder until I have the desired bead.
What am I doing wrong? Xx

It is your ratio and it's just practice. Your beads need to be the same consistency it you'll see a line where they join

So am I not using enough liquid? I find the bead already hardening on the brush while I'm waiting for it to soak (be clear) if that makes sense xx

It sounds like you're working extremely dry. You'd be better practicing beads on paper to make sure you have the correct ratio.
You might benefit from a 1:1 session with an Nsi educator as the correct ratio is essential when working with L&P.
Have a look at https://nailangel.co.uk/
They use Nsi products and the videos are very good.
