Hiya, I've been doing the Brasiliana for a while now and have done about 9 treatments. To be honest the results have been ok but nothing amazing like the adverts say. I follow the instructions exactly.

I done a lady's hair last week she had a full head foils then immediatly followed with the brasiliana treatment, which is fine to do according to instructions.

When I was doing it with the straightners 230 heat, It did seem to be going dry on the ends rnd the front but then this went after going over it the 20 times as recommended.

Ive had a phone call today from the ladys sister today saying she is besides herself as her hair is frazzled all over, and she is horrified and doesnt know what to do with it. Her sister was also booked in tomorrow for the treatment but has cancelled and said her sister that has frazzled hair will be coming in to the salon so I can have a look and try and do something :S

I explained to the client that I felt awful this had happened as I've never heard of this before, of course bring her in and I will take a look.

Hair geeks please help, what am I going to say or do!? Her hair is only about 5inches long anyway so cant really cut too much off? Do a offer a full refund?

I feel so upset as Ive never had an unhappy customer :(

we use this at work and i was under the impression that you should turn the straightners down on bleached/porus/damaged hair.

sorry dont know what to sugest

I agree I beleive the heat to be turned down on the finer hair around the front especially if colour treated I think you should do a conditioning treatment goldwell do one called keratin something or the other but any good quality one with no sodium chloride in maybe put her under hood dryer and then assess her hair afterwards see if its any better, maybe offer her a weekley treatment for a month to rebuild the condition , also maybe look into changing product I use global keratin and u do get amazing results plus u don't have to straighten each section 20 times that seems really really excessive?!
Good luck xx

I had this happen with La Brasiliana last September, I hate to say it this damage is irrepairable. I to couldn't believe it when the client calked me, as I had no signs at all during the application. Her hair was like cotton wool from midlength to end. No where could I find in their DVD or literature did they warn this could happen. I couldn't find a UK number for la Brasiliana so eventually I emailed their head office in New York it took the 1 week to call me, u missed the call, so returned the call, they couldn't find the guy that rang me and I never heard from them again. I don't use their products now, but changed to Beox who gave me free training, so I used this client as my model, even another Brazilian 3 months later couldn't repair the damage. I was lucky she was such a lovely lady!

I now turn the straighteners down to 200c on any type of over processed or fine hair as really don't want that to happen to anyone else.

Forgot to say I did refund my clients money, first time I've ever done this, but as I couldn't give her any answers it was the least I could do.

Good luck let us know how you get on x

I have been working with BEOX for over a year now and I am very happy with the results.
 I have tried LaBrasiliana - have done 2 clients day apart and both called me in 6 days time that the hair is not as it should be. I am going to re-do it for free (using BEOX) and I will be returning the full size bottle back to the retailer.
The reason why I wanted LaBrasiliana is that is Fromaldehy free. But it DOES NOT work.
Now I have another product KeraStraight - an instant blowdry. No need to wait 1 - 4 days - great so you see the clients result before you leave. It is more expencive than BEOX but I am giving my client a choice. And is Formaldehy/Aldehyde free, safe for pregnant and breast feeding mums! :p Now there is an open market for you ladies....

Whats this instant one, sounds interesting can u give me more info or a link?

Well the client came back to the salon and it didnt look half as bad as she made out, thank god!! But admitedly it didnt look as it should. I done a conditioning treatment using la brasiliana conditioner under the hood dryer for 15 mins, then sprayed it with Deici brasiliana all in one and blow dryed it. It looked lovely, phew!! I gave her the Deici spray and told her to use it after every wash before blow drying. Whilst I was blow drying she said " I will have the treatment done again, as I can see its alot better than it was" So all my panic and sleepless night was for nothing, she made out I was gonna have to shave it lol.

Thank you for your support and suggestions, and please remember for future its never normally as bad as the client makes out!

p.s info on the instant treatment would be great xxx
