HI all

I am going to be adding Minx to my services, and have some questions for those already using it.

firstly i know everyone says use the correct lamp for this and that BUT, having started up mobile in a fairly new business my budget is rather limited. Can anyone tell me if there are other infra red lamps that will be okay for Minx. I have looked around and not sure as there are so many at all different prices.. !!!! i have heard of some heating with a mini hairdryer which i really do not want to do.

Also what is the typical average cost of the service, is £20 too cheap ???? My gelish service is also £20, i dont live in a big city or town either.

any advices would be greatly received.

P.S
as i cant see the prices to byu minx from sweet squared as my account is not yet opened i am feeling rather blind in pricing up the treatment :O)

Hi Sarah,

I price minx at £25 and Seche ( like gelish) at £22. and that is in salon, so i think your prices sound fair.

Only you can tell as you will get to know your area and clients and what they are prepared to pay. You are using good products so dont sell yourself cheap!

As for the lamp. I have the S2 minx lamp in salon but i found it too bulky to carry when i do mobile so I bought a medisana infrared lamp for around £20 off the net. (google it) and its fantastic. Works brilliantly and looks much more professional than a hairdryer.

I hope this info helps, good luck

xx:)

Hi Sarah

I bought a Boditek Infra Red Therapy Lamp from Argos, it cost £49.99, it has a red bulb but you can get clear bulbs to fit.

I'm really pleased with it, hope this helps.

Sweet squared recommend you to charge from £25 for Minx.
I am doing my Minx training on Thurs 7th & cant wait :) I will be doing an introductory offer of £20 then £25 after that.
Minx say that it takes 15 sets to get Minx perfected.
I have bought the new black Minx lamp, it looks very professional has "Minx" on it (which I thinks looks good to the client) has a dimer on it, a flexable neck, & a clamp to attach to trolleys etc, very good for salon & mobile use.
I know you said money is tight but I would save up until you have enough money to buy this black lamp, or just get a couple of designs & the book then show your clients the designs & get them to choose one before you do it, which you can order in, that would free up more money helping you get the lamp, it is lovely.
Hope that helps x:hug:x

Hi ladies..

thank you so much for taking the time to give me advice. I thought about it last night and came to the £25 mark too, I have also set my Gelish at this too anyway now (introductory price finished :O)

sending off my bits and bobs for account today and will go from there. have had quite alot of interest and been asked for Minx by name, also have seen them on a previous client and they are fab, even after 4 weeks !! i know i have made the right choice :O)

i am going to put the designs on my website as i have done with my Gelish so clients can browse also and choose beforehand.

thanks again

Sarah x
