Awww Lily you'll be fine!!! It will go so quick you wouldn't believe it!!

Do you know what you're having ? (When I said this to my neighbours husband... he said 'A baby' :irked:)

Lol when I went in to have my second baby, I took the same outfit that I brought my first home from hospital in, I thought it would be sweet,
only trouble was my first was 7lb 1oz and my 2nd was 9lb !!!
so the outfit wouldnt even go over her hips lol :green:
I sent partner home to get me another outfit, he came back with 3 to 6 month babygrows...which were massive on her :irked:
so she came home in a baby grow that was miles too big, and a cardy that was too small lol ,she looked like a little scruffbag haha bless

even the little cutie baby hats wouldnt fit her !!!!

Hi lilly hope you are well as the others have said you will be fine once it all starts it over before you know it.
just like to add to list tooth brush and a mp player/ipod sometime you dont want to sleep and baby is asleep you can get board so some music can be good to help you relax.
good luck you will be fine .

Do they let you eat and drink now when you are in labour??? A few posts have mentioned snack and drinks. When I had my two you weren't allowed anything, not even ice! I spent 18 hours with nothing passing my lips! Seemed so inhumane, but they said it was in case you needed an emergency section, so you couldn't have anything in your tummy.

I'm having a boy!! I bought a lovely fleece coat, newborn and that was such a mistake coz he is due in 3 weeks time and it will be hot! Unless it rains then I can put it on him? I have a few things that are newborn, hopefully they will fit him ok! Guess I just got excited and didn't think! lol

The midwife says so far he is probably a 6 pounder! So not that big!!! She doubts I will have anything over that really! So easier for me to push push and push! lol

Dont let them kid you Lily!! I was told both of mine would be around 6lb's, Harry weighed 9lb7oz and Millie weighed 9lb1oz!! How wrong they were lol!!

I bought a couple of newborn bits but manily 0-3 and 3-6 as they grow sooo fast!!

Mariond, yes they let me eat in both labours, it was touch and go with Harry if I had to have an emergancy C-section but they let me carry on, jam sarnies!!! Life savers!!! lol!!

My second was in hand-me downs to leave hospital too, but she was 6lb 13oz whereas my son was 8lb 7oz so everything hung off her!!! I had to send hubby to Asda for small clothes cos I ran out of newborn items after about 3 days.....!!

I took some old baby grows in with me too because they get them dressed without bathing them first here. I didnt want to ruin all my nice new stuff with goo lol.

Also, take a really nice old tee shirt in or nighty to give birth in, I wore an old tee shirt and it was not a problem to get it mucky and just throw it away afterwards.

You nighty that you wear afterwards needs button if you are planning to breast feed.

Nipple shields are a god send for if you get sore feeding. Also, even if you breast feed get some baby milk powder or ready made milk just in case you are too tired to feed or too sore.

My hospital bag tips other than all that have been mentione would be:

A change of clothes for hubby - Labour can sometimes get messy.

Another empty bag- You end up bringing loads home. Matt had to make 3 trips to the car before emily and I left the ward.

Lily, try not to be nervous, it truly is a wonderful experience and we cant wait to meet the little fella.
