hey i've been abit of a lurker for a while and hoped someone could give me a little of advice??

i'm not in the industry, so i know nothing, other than what i've managed to read online

a little backround. i shaved my head in dec and i now have quite a bit of growth, but i get married in sept and would MUCH prefer to have long hair for it. obviously i'd need extensions for that

before the big chop, i bought a couple packets of cheap clip ins from china on a well known auction site. they might not be the BEST quality, but they did me fine and blended with my hair perfectly. they have lasted for 3 years with a litte shedding, but they still look fine.

anyway, back to the point. i was supposed to get micro loop extensions for the wedding, but the funding has fallen through and i cannot afford to buy new hair. the hair was being put in as a gift and only the cost of the hair was needed, but i just can't stretch the budget.

i had already sewn the clip ins into on large weft (i was planning on making a halo), but i wondered if i could make stick tips from it and they could be used with micro loops?? i watched a few tutorials online and i think i could make them, they would just be time consuming (which i don't mind)

i have thick hair and as my hair is short, i know i'd need more than normal for it to look right. would you say 300 is too many??

my profile photo is the hair i have (the top on has 3x the hair as the bottom) i have cut the straggly ends off

you will need at least 3-4" growth to add extensions but even then its hard to get them to look fab!
With your clip ins they are great coz u can take them out! when u have them installed as permanent extensions they will be washed more and this is when you may come into problems with them going dry and matted! as the silicone is washed off them this is what keeps them silky and nice if its cheap hair.

Personally i know you say u cant afford it BUT id save a little and get new hair for it so it looks amazing for your special day (thats what id do)

If your really stuck on putting those in then id do it as close to your wedding as possible

thanks for your reply

i've got about 5-6 ins growth just now (my hair grows pretty fast)

i've had these for 3 years and they've been washed (albeit gently lol) a few times. to be honest, for the fact they were so cheap, i'm impressed with them (but i suppose i don't really know any different!! lol)

do you think the amount of hair i have already would be enough to do my full head??

edit: they really only need to do me 4-5 weeks. after that, i don't care if they fall to pieces. i'm just thinking of the wedding
