Hi all

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I thought I'd give it a go.

I'm currently a full time mum age 29 but 3 years ago I qualified in nail enhancements and art. I noticed I was actually pretty good at nail art and it was something I really enjoy practising. I've always been someone who loves makeup and my friends and family are sure to call me to do their makeup on a night out proms weddings etc.. I've realised I love love love makeup and being as creative as possible (it's only taken 12 years ) I want to do a makeup artistry course part time but I'm not sure where to go... theatrical or bridal etc.. and am i too old to be starting a career as a makeup artist? Where can I go and do as a nail and makeup artist? Any advice is hugely welcome. I have so many questions....

Thanks in advance

You will get loads of work if you specialise in Bridal, and it's very rewarding. The only thing is, you don't often get to be very creative, it's usually the same kind of looks / styles so if you like to be creative and do lots of different out there kind of things - maybe go down the theatrical route or even fashion/editorial? xx

Hey in the same position, I have 3 children and i am 24 i am a freelance mua at the moment do it p/t I have wanted to do media make up for a long time. And was accepted onto a degree in media makeup. My little boy is only 5 months. And now im wondering whether or not its worth the degree?or maybe just a diploma part time. x

Not too old to train as a makeup artist. I'm 35 and starting a full time makeup artistry course next week!

I'm in 2 minds as to where I want to take this route. But the idea of sfx really whets my appetite!

Snap! I'm 40 and planning going to London school of Makeup for training. But I would really like to do more theatrical than bridal. Although I am planning on doing both courses as I'm aware that there's is a limited need for theatrical especially where I'm from. Really interested to see if everyone thinks it's worthwhile. X
