Hi

I have been reading some of the posts on male massage/waxing and thought I would chip in with my own experience and see if anyone can help.

I live on the Dorset/Somerset border and have recently been diagnosed with an umbilical hernia; unfortunately before I can have the op I need to do something about my rather high blood pressure. Thankfully my GP is suggesting "lifestyle changes" rather than throwing pills at me. Things are going well but one thing I am finding hard to address is stress and I have been told regular massage is a good route to try; however trying to find an professional that offers this is proving .... well, stressful.

I have sent numerous e-mails to salons and independents in the area asking if they will take male clients (explaining my predicament and being 100% non pervy!) but not one has even had the courtesy to reply to my enquiries - not even a "sorry no".

Any suggestions or recommendations greatly received.

I would just phone up and book yourself in for a massage. I cant see why they wouldn't massage you just because your a male. Usual home workers or mobile therapists have a no males rule unless recommended by a client for safety reasons, but I really can't see why a salon would refuse you.

I do massages where I work and I have 2 regular males clients for different massages and I have no problem at all with treating them.

Hope you find somewhere soon.

If you really don't have any luck at your local salons I would suggest you look for massage therapists working within a salon or gym or sports therapists instead - good luck x
