WOO HOO, I put a sculptured nail on me today.
I think it looks quite girly for a mans nail (or course I extended the nailbed quite a bit)
( I must be doing something right)

Very nice! Looks like the perfect nail :green: Although I do agree with you, it does look quite girly! xx

Congratulations and welcome!

My opinion of male techs is very high, as it is for male hairdressers. It has always been my experience that men working in a female dominated industry often do a better job, as they seem to look at it as an art form - as opposed to a job.

We all find it boring, but you know what?? You don't have to read them.

When folks are new they always ask product questions and thank God they can ask here on the nailgeek and maybe some can avoid the same difficulties others have fallen into because they had nowhere to go to ask questions before choosing training or products.

You are right gigi, I don't read them. I don't mean to offend anyone who posts them, I was just giving my opinion.

On a man or woman, no getting away from the fact it is a lovely piece of work!

Hi

I think it's wonderful that we have so many men in our industry, I personally would love to have my nails done by a man but infortunately there are none in my area (that I know of anyway), It is nice you want to advertise your work to your clients, could you do this as a portfoilio rather than on your own hands?? just a thought. When I first started out doing nails I liked to take photos ans put them in a scrap book, it's nice to look back and see how far you have come in your career

Good luck with everything and enjoy it xx

Gotta say Carl, if I didn't know it was your nail, I would have defo thought it was a woman's nail! As always, your work is beautiful!

I think I would be more bothered by a male tech that wore enhancements than by a male tech who did not.

The fact of using a male tech makes no earthly difference to me at all ...straight or gay or whatever if they are good, but males with enhancements? ... that just looks wrong to me. Freaky !! Only my opinion.

P:S: Welcome to the site but please fill in your profile

We are a pretty close and friendly bunch here and we like to know a bit about a person, what they use, their experience etc etc.
im a male tech and i wear nails, in pure pink nice and short as my nails are terrible.
oh gigi my nail look lovely when jo does them haha and even she thinks my nails look better with somthing on them lol
i dont wear my nails like a x dresser or a tranny lol
hahahahaha

It doesn't matter at all. Nor does it matter that you're wearing enhancements yourself. Just my opinion.

Oh, and wearing enhancements doesn't make you seem gay, like some people sort of suggested. Last time I checked homosexual meant that you were attracted to men, not that you are wearing nail polish.

"Just my opinion"

To the OP

Hi and welcome to the board, I'm a newbie here like yourself and I think it's great you've gone into an industry with your wife.

It will be nice to have a man's perspective on things so please stick around :green: x

I missed this bit: which post made him seem gay? He's married!!

"The fact of using a male tech makes no earthly difference to me at all ...straight or gay or whatever if they are good, but males with enhancements?"

Quoted from the second post. Sort of implies that nail enhancements might have something to do ragarding people being homosexual or not.

Also, I believe you can marry the same gender. At least you can in Sweden.

I only wear nails to test products and only on pinkies and toes.
I don't give 2 hoots what anyone does........ who am I to judge ? (unless it's at a nail comp).:)

I wouldnt have any problem with a male nail tech, unless.......... he was a bit sleezy and used it a a chance to chat up the girls!!!!! :) As a married (and a professional) man i'm sure this doesnt apply to you!

A good nail tech of either sex is great. In fact i think a male tech might have advantages. Some women feel more comfortable in a males company.

Not sure on the wearing your products to show clients. It may look different on a male hand and put them off rather than encourage them. Depends on what you have i suppose. A set of long, pink talons might scare me slightly!!!!!
