Hi All,

Just looking for a bit advice on starting up a mobile beauty business. Im looking to start part time as I work full time at the moment. I qualified some years ago but never persued it. I am looking into refresher courses to get me up to speed again and a couple of additional courses. I know I will need to obtain insurance etc, I'm just a little unsure on how to get going!

Many thanks in advance for any help :) xx

Hey! I'm in exactly the same boat. I qualified about 8 years ago and apart from a bit of nails and tanning I've not pursued it, but now the time has come. I've just completed an eyelash extension course and I offer spray tans. Right now I'm just easing myself into it with those two treatments as I don't want to overload myself what with my other job and my daughter!
I also decided that as I am out of practise, I'd rather perfect a couple of treatments at a time and give my clients my all instead of trying to do a little bit of everything. I've set myself goals every 6 months as to what i want to start next.
I've just got to find some insurance and then I'm set to go!
What are you looking to do first? Xx

Hi! That's exactly what I am going to do, start with offering just a few services then build my treatment portfolio up gradually. I have really thought about it for so long now and I thought now is a good time for me to get serious about it! A 6 month goal is such a good idea, also gives you time to build up a good client base and get a feel of what your clients want you to offer. I am looking for an eyelash extensions course to attend as it's so popular and in demand at the moment. I am also thinking of offering manicure and pedicure and eyebrow waxing. I am also looking to do a course in gel application so I can offer this as an alternative with my mani and pedi. I'm looking into getting stated within the next couple of months so I can start taking bookings for the xmas period!

I have been reading a few threads on here with regards to product selection and there are so many to choose from I don't know what to pick! What are you using? Xx

Hi guys im looking for employment but with a family it can be tricky, my partner works full time and because he pays all the bills i kind of need to work round him.

I have been considering mobile & doing a little from home. I do have salon experince the only catch with me is collectiong all the equipment. I have a spray tan machine & a wax pot but i was just considering starting doing tanning only then adding bits as i go along. Maybe offer gel nails as this can be easily transported ina case.

Anyone had any experince going mobile? Where do we start, eg advertising pricing. Following research im finding that people are offering shellac nails and fake bake tans for like £10 how is this possible to make a profit.

Xxx

So I done my lash training with the eyelash queen in Plymouth (check her out on facebook or her website) she offers so many training courses and is really good, I'm probably going to do all my training with her! Tanning I use sienna x, I'm personally not offering manis/pedis but my friend who has her own beauty room used CND.
I'd also recommend doing a facebook page, put your progress up on there and get friends to post and share it, that's what I've done (Altho I'm really struggling with being overly 'gay' on facebook if you get me [emoji23])

Hey, I'm not really offering mobile treatments, I'm getting people to come to me for now as transporting my stuff is gonna be a complete ball ache!
I use sienna x spray tan and charge £15. As I've only just started I'm not too sure about profit. £10 for shellac nails doesn't seem a lot..
Most people who care about what they look like aren't going to judge a therapist on how much they charge, they're going to judge on the treatment they receive. I know that I'd rather pay more to get a better service x
