Hello, I'm looking into doing stamping as I don't have the freehand skills but a few clients have asked about nail art for Christmas.

I've signed up to MoYou but I really dont know where to start with products/equipment. I'm new to this (being a mature therapist) so this is all a bit overwhelming but fun!

Any and all advice would be amazing!

These are my Christmas offerings from last year, the plate was from moyou London, I based them all around a theme of just a few colours plus Metallics

But by far the most popular thing I ever do at Christmas is my snowflake stickers from eBay! :)

I've actually bought a Konad Christmas stamping plate ready for this year but to be honest it's full glitter coverage on everyone from December !!

I use Konad stamping polishes and plates plus a few moyou plates.
Snowflakes at the ready too though ! [emoji4]

It's really the actual kit I need to buy that I'm unsure of...what do I need beside stamper pad and scraper?...I currently use OPI for simple mani and Gelish for my gels...obvs :)

Up until now I'd been doing red or purple nails, with a different ring finger in gold or silver glitter! LOL...how things change :)

Which MoYou have you signed up to? There is MoYou London and MoYou Nails.... you want the first one!!! MoYou London! :) x

Good, you will need stamper (as a beginner you want to look at probably a squishy and sticky stamper perhaps get the marshmallow sticky - and perhaps a clear one if you are going to be needing to have very accurate placing). The stamper usually comes with a scraper, although it's going to come down to personal preference on if you prefer a firm or flexi one, which you can figure out when you have a play.

You should also get a few stamping polishes (good Colour a to start with are black, white and maybe a gold/metallic) and some plates. This will be a good start and once you have a play with those it will help determine what you are going to want next.

Amazing advice Bronstar! Thank you so much! Ok I shall have a good look tomorrow [emoji122][emoji106][emoji4]

No problem :)

If you have a look at the nail mail thread you can see some stamping goodies some ladies have gotten.

Also for some great videos I would suggest SarahR and NonaPhillipa YouTube channels. Anona has some great videos on different kinds of stampers along with recommendations.

If at a later stage you are looking for another sticky squishy stamper I'd recommend the Nail Artisan galaxy (they have a nice site and they have a good fab support group), along with the Fab Ur Nails jumbo - however if you are going for Fab Ur nails I'd try and source locally vs direct from the site (just my recommendation based on personal experience dealing with them directly).

OOh, I love the reindeer!! Im new too and would like to give stamping a go. if doing stamping on gels, do you use a stamping polish then gel topcoat? thanks

I love MoYou London stamping at Christmas! It's just amazing & so effortless! My fave MoYou Christmas plates are festive 03 and festive 02. 2 is full of snowflakes & 3 has the candy canes, reindeers, holy and presents etc [emoji5]️ I'll be doing some Christmas YouTube tutorials of moyou stamping soon but I have other stamping tutorials on my YouTube if you wanna check them out?

I have other stampers but always go back to moyou, I love there stuff! The clear one in this video is fab but I bought it before MoYou released there own clear stamper.

Hope that's helpful :) xx

Your welcome :) I have an app on my iPhone called Phonto, you choose the picture you want, add text by tapping the picture and write what you want, saves people pinching your work! Also if you want to a logo like the CND one Google transparent '' logo and save to your images, I also use the same app to add the logo In the corner :) xx

Same! I always run out of snowflakes apart from the big ones that don't fit anyone's nails! Must remember to stock up this year.

I've got some lovely moyou Christmas plates and their silver and gold polishes, did struggle with them a bit last year as the metallic polishes dry so quickly and there are so many fine and straight lines, hoping my clear stamper will help me a bit this year!

Great advice ladies thanks. So advice for newbie would be a clear stamper, or is that for more advanced? X
