First off let me introduce myself..My name is Michelle and I am rather new here. I graduated from nail school at the end of June and have been lurking around here a bit and reading tutorials. FAB site I might add! I am currently working part time in salon until I go do "State Board" in September. OK on to the good stuff...I had my first client on Thursday of last week. At that time I was using a product that is made locally and pretty popular in my city. It set up way to fast for me and I have since switched to Retention. (Love it BTW!!) Anyway...she called back 2 days later because she lost one and the others where lifting. When she came in the 9 that were still on were lifting badly so I soaked them off and she came in today to get them put back on. I used the Retention this time and it was alot better...I paid special attention to my prep and we were both happy when I was done. My question is if she calls again in a few days because she is not happy because of lifting (am having a bit of trouble still in Zone 3) then do I start over again? I didn't charge her for the second set and told her that I wouldn't charge her for her first fill. If she would call back I guess I'm not sure how to handle it. I'm just starting and can't really afford to be doing freebies. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

If she hasnt called back with repairs within 24 hrs then charge her accordingly Michelle.
don't give it away for nothing.

It's nerve wracking isn't it? I bet every time the phone rings, you think it's her.

I think it's an excellent idea as she will come back if you're not charging for her first infill. That way, you'll learn a lot about what you may be doing wrong by seeing what problems have arisen.

The penny has finally dropped for me about the importance of prep. The more time spent on prep, the less time spent on repairs and trouble shooting.

Good luck sweetie..............sounds like you're doing great and learning by your mistakes.

Hi, I am sure things will be fine....if you think you can improve in zone 3 then have another read over the brush control tutorial..as brush control is all important in zone 3.
Retention is the best monomer for lift prone clients.....so relax a little.
But as kimmi rocks says most lifting problems arise from improper prep....that and if you touch the skin in zone 3....I am sure with a little more experience you will be confident in these areas......it all takes time and practise practise practise......
