I would stop the solar defence, I stock Dermalogica but I never recommend SPF 50 to anyone. Sun screen companies always target high factors at kids and I've always found it really harsh on their skin my sons take a reaction to high levels of sunscreen. I recommend my clients use SPF 25 at the most, this is through different courses and research x

I would probably lay off the mineral make up in the summer. It does not react well with sweat or heat from nearly everyone i know that uses it. The powders and ingredients just dont like heat (in most mineral make ups). Maybe try a liquid or even a tinted moisturiser with a lower spf. Dermalogica sheer tiny or cover tint.

Although I haven't obviously tried every mineral make up, I tend to find the ones that contain Bismuth cause the problems. Long term skin conditions on clients using mineral make up can often be traced back to this. I simply ask if their skin 'tingles' when they get hot and if they do, it always seems to be a mineral make up with bismuth in that causes the problems. Unfortunately, they think they are doing the best for their skin by using mineral make up, but there are still products in mineral make up to avoid.
Having said that, of course it may be the make up lol!!!

Look for natural sunscreens.Ones that don't contain Avobenzone also know as methoxydiben something or other. Its a known allergen for many.
Not sure why it is only around your chin area though.

Im going to throw a spanner in the works here but i wonder if your suffering from polymorphic light eruption. Considering it only happens when your im the sunshine and the uks sunlight is tempret at best it would fit along with you being fair and it takes a little while to clear up.

I use liz Earle sun cream lotion as no chemicals x

Are you taking any medication? I react when I'm in the sun because of medication I am on and it causes an itchy red rash and I burn very easily. I have to use a very high SPF as even in 5 minutes of being in the sun it happens.

I'm not taking any medication and I have suffered like this in the same areas for years (every summer for as long as I remember)
As it's worse on holiday I'm thinking the SPF must play a part, I have tried lots of factors high and low and always have the same reaction no matter what I use.
I'm going to google that skin condition that was mentioned as it's something I'm not familiar with.
I haven't always used the mineral make up either I have been using it about a year now. The only factor consistent with the outbreaks seems to be the sun.

I suffer from PLE it drives me nuts!! I started with it around 7 years ago completely out of the blue. Mine has got a little better each year, I have to expose myself gradually to the sun. I know this pic isn't very good but this is my hand at the mo, I only spent an hour outside on Sunday.
