I've jus re-read the thread, I'm not suprised it's gone like that, Live xxl is a bugger to get out.
What were you aiming for?

Personally I'd take her down a few levels with a 7na or 7a and start building highlights up through that.

I agree, take it down a notch and build up from there. At least going a little bit darker than she wants is still going to be close enough. This way she can give her hair a rest and she will still have a nice colour.
I really wouldn't recommend using a 12%(40vol) peroxide with bleach. You're only going to blast it without giving the bleach a chance to take the colour out. 9% is the highest strength I would use with a bleach.
Don't doubt yourself or your skills though. It's not your fault she coloured her hair with reds and it's not going to a light blonde after the first few goes. It's a gradual build up and it suits better for the condition of the hair.

The roots (only 0.5centimeters are yellowish) but rest is pretty much a pastell orange, have never seen anything like it before, it is light but still the orange quite intense!?
She came by just today to show it and it looks more orange than yesterday:Scared::rolleyes:
I feel so bad about this.
If I manage to get some of the orange away, would you use a semi or permanent tint over afterwards?

I would use a semi.

Surely it cant be that long development time when its correction of yellow/orange? Previously when correcting yellow tones it has been a matter of minutes and to watch the color develop closely as if left too long it will go either ashgrey or purple. I imagine with 40/45 mins it will be a very ugly color considering the starting stage being yellow/orange.

no dopey lol not with the toner talking about development for the bleach lol could you imagine leaving a toner on for that long lol

Thank you so much for your help, I will do what you said in this and your previous posts, again a big THANKS!!!!

Let us know how you get on :)

I was the same, hated using bleach until i tried colourgraphics by matrix, its fab! comes with its own toners, that you mix with it depending on desired shade, and they all smell gorgeous! really "clean" blonde results : )

Love cylnol blonde me bleach fantastic clean blonde results everytime Although saying that never attempted to bleach out the dreaded xxl personally don't touch xxl jobbies

I use, and always have use 40vol if its needed, never ever had probs with damaged hair, Whats best 20 vol for double the dev time or 40 vol on for half the dev time ??? So long as the hair is in good condition and you dont overlap or over develop you shouldnt have any problems imo

You are better to leave a bleach with lower peroxide on for longer than use a high percentage for less time. It's like trying to bake a cake at 600 degrees. You'll burn the outside and the inside will be raw still. You just wont get the best results. It lifts cleaner with a lower peroxide.

Also, I really hope I misread the part where someone advised putting a 12% bleach on for an hour. As Persianista would say... Would you like to take your highlights home in a bag?!

I was always told 40 vol and bleach will degrade the hair rather then lifts and keeps in nice condition.

sorry if im wrong
