I know that acrylic monomer can be strong, if you had/have a nail bar would you do acrylic nails if extraction fan us used???
Do hair clients complain??
Do hair clients complain??
I knocked acrylics on the head in my salon because of the smell. Hair clients and staff found it too strong and headache inducing.
I read on here that there are ways to minimise the smell, which I didnt know about at the time.
I work in a hair and beauty salon and my nail station is downstairs in the hairdressers. What system do you use? Some acrylic monomers are stronger smelling than others. I use CND which is not that strong. During acrylic application when I wipe my brush on a llint free nail wipe I make sure it has scrubfresh on it as this helps to eliminate any odours. An extracter fan just reduces the amont of dust that is produced when you are filing the nails. There is a machine you could get to reduce the smell of odour, not exactly sure what it's called though. Hth:biggrin:
I would have thought the main problem would be if your nail desk was on the main floor of the salon, then you would have a major problem with hair everywhere !
Not to mention the noise of the hairdryers and smell of hairspray etc The smell of monomer seems the least of these problems
