Hello,

I'm new to this site, so please forgive me if youv'e already answered this question a million times before.

I really want to become a nail technician but don't know what qualification to do. I have recently received a brochure from Creative Nails. The course looks good but I don't want to spend all that money if the qualification won't allow me to then work on my own.

I have no previous experience so should I be doing a basic manicure course first?

Please help !

Thanks

Carly :)

There is absolutely no harm at all in doing a basic manicure course before you set foot on the nail technology path. On Creative courses you are taught step by step the manicuring process plus the other requirements you will need. But if it makes you feel more confident to get some hands on first, then by all means do so.

You only have to look at any threads that you can search under 'education' to see that you are right, this topic has been discussed many times before and you can read everyone's views by searching these posts. I hope you like to read cause there is plenty to go at.

Welcome to the nail geek site.;)

Hi Carly,

I work in an office during the day and up until my son was born 2½ yrs ago i used to have enhancements.

Every time I went back for rebalance I used to think to myself that I would love to do it.

I eventually decided that I was going to do the course and so I signed up for the Creative four day foundation course. I passed on the 26 August and although I am short of people to practice on to perfect my skills I am glad I did it and certainly won't ever look back.

I hope this helps.

PS. My husband is buying me the Creative Spa Manicure Course as part of my wedding anniversary and xmas pressies (our anniversary is 4 days before xmas)

Hey Gigi,

Hi,

Why don't you do a manicure & Pedicure course and then think about doing some training with companies like Aston&Fincher or Ellisons.
