Hi
I’d like some advice as to why all of a sudden slit of my clients are complaining of heat spike in the lamp
I use gel 11 products with the gel 11 lamp
It’s just started happening all of a sudden and I don’t know why. X

Usually heat spikes come from building up the gel layer too thick or that the nail plate is damaged and thin. Also some clients are very sensitive to this so they might get spikes very easy. Try to build the gel thinner and investigate if the clients in question might have damage. I usually try to work the gel thinner on clients who come to me with damage so the enhancement is not to thick and I also recommend them to have shorter nails until the nail gets a chance to grow out stronger.

A great educator told me you can’t build a house on a bad foundation. So it’s something to check.

If it’s not any of these things you should contact the distributor and ask what might be going on. I have not used that brand, but I bet they will be able to assist you. Or maybe a tech with the same brand on here.

Good luck [emoji4]

Thanks for your reply
Everything you’ve said is what Iv already looked at but the thing is Iv always applied it the same way and their nails arent thin and damaged ..... someone mentioned the heat inside the lamp seemed hotter aswell so maybe it’s the lamp
It’s just weird that it’s all of a sudden
The only difference Iv changed in the recent months is that I now remove with pure acetone .... could this make a difference? X

No, I don’t see that acetone should affect the nail when it comes to heat spikes. Seems to me like it’s a technical problem perhaps. Contact the support system for the brand and have them help you out. If the lamp feels hotter it could be something with the lamp like you say.

I have heard quite a few nail techs on other forums saying clients are experiencing more heat spikes during this hot weather! I'm not too sure why this would be, but maybe it's a contributing factor?

Ugh yes, :p I share this struggle and have yet to find a proper long term solution. I have been experiencing this with many clients both old and new over the past few months. I use CND brisa gel with the CND LED lamp. I do not apply the product thickly enough to warrant heat spikes, and it happens even when I experimented with brushing a generous layer of gel over their nails to see if they feel that and indeed many do. It may be my lamp but perhaps not. This happens to both new and old, many have had "virgin nails" so no overfiling has happened either. I do use the flash cure, but even then they complain it's painful.

I have had to resort to keeping their hands partially outside the lamp for the duration of 3 flash cures, then they go inside the lamp for 2 flash cures, and then I can do a full cure. However, this really adds up time on my service. I am not pleased with this, and I'm also at my wits end to be honest. This started happening around 4 months ago. I can't exactly send my lamp off to be tested for faults either, because it's the only CND lamp I own.

If you burn the nails, it can cause the nail to detach from the fingers.

Fact is some brands will burn and some will not.

In warm weather, acrylic liquid and powder cures faster. So it is not a surprise that in warm weather gel also cures faster, and that in turn generates more exothermic heat. Try keeping the gel cool by placing in a dish of water with ice.

Bob, you still haven't told me what brand you work for. Are you scared?

You can find this information easily if you check Bob’s profile details :)

Thank you. I looked at his website. It takes only one piece of information that I need in order to quickly dismiss a brand. And I hate to say this but his brand is no good.

Ive said this before on other forums that are not related to nails. People want to make money the easy way. Small companies like to prey on people's ignorance.
Tuan, your rudeness is beyond a joke!
Bob gives extremely helpful advice and information. He doesn't constantly slate other professional brands like your do and the fact I had to look at his profile to see which brand he works with proves he isn't just trying to push that brand.

It concerns me that new members with little or no experience may read your comments and believe the twaddle you come out with! You post incorrect information just because YOU believe it. You are also rude to other members. Of course you are entitled to your opinion, as is everyone else, but remember, it is just your opinion and not necessarily true fact!

@BobSweden has answered the query posted so I’m closing this thread here.

A reminder:
This is a forum for PROFESSIONAL geeks to support each other and share best practice.
It is not a platform for displaying childish egotistical behaviours, generally rudeness and posting pointless provocative posts.
There’s plenty of other avenues online for that elsewhere.
