Hi I am a nail professional but i am looking for advice on my husbands hair. He has natural light grey hair but it has recently turned a shade of pink/lilac. Thought it might be his wax but it isn't coloured. Does anyone have any ideas? x

Shampoo i would guess, I'm naturally white/grey, if I use anything other than silver shampoo I always pick up a slight tint of the colour of the shampoo I'm using.

Thank you, he is using my shampoo which is the wella brilliance for coloured hair which is White x

Grey hair is a mix of white hairs and your original hair colour so if it looks pale grey, it’s probably a high percentage of white hair and only 5-10% his original darker colour. The white hair is actually your natural hair but with far fewer colour pigments in it so it looks almost translucent.

Does he go swimming regularly or is your water particularly hard? It sounds like a build up of mineral deposits.

Try using a chelating shampoo to remove any residue and then use a normal cleansing shampoo, swapping with a chelating shampoo only every 4-6 washes as it can be quite drying.

Chelating shampoo is much stronger than a clarifying shampoo so be wary of buying a clarifying shampoo as it’s unlikely to be as effective. He’ll only need to use the chelating shampoo occasionally so it will be cost effective in the long run.

Brilliant thank you will give it a go!
