I would so appreciate some advice on salon nails, I am thinking of going for bio sculpture based on what I have read although there may be a better system for me.

I have tried everything to have nice nails of my own over the years, believe me there is nothing I havent tried and have given everything fair trial.

Am now 60 and have decided to have 'false' nails. However I want them to look as natural as possible, I have no interest in very long nails with a hugely obvious french tip. I just want to look as though I have well groomed nails - I realise they probably cannot look 100% natural but want them fairly short and as least obvious as possible. I don't mind a gentle wash of near natural colour over them as I guess something is necessary more than clear varnish but I dont want a coloured nail varnish.

I can see thru reading that there are different tips available and differnet nail colours, but its beyond me to sort this out and know what I want. Everyone I know who has artificial nails has fairly thick acryrilic nails with french tips so I cannot go to a nail salon as say I would like what such and such a client has.

My nails are not suitable for wraps I dont think with my own tip, as I type I have some longish nails and some that have broken so low down there is no white tip at all

Is it possible to be helped or is it a wild goose chase with the present level of products available? I live in Chelmsford which has several nail bars or beauty salons that do nails as well

Many many thanks, sorry this is a bit long but wanted to make myself clear!

Please, could someone help me with my unanswered post - you are all so experienced and I would be grateful! Many thanks

Hi, have you tried Shellac? My own nails are cr*p, but with Shellac I can grow them. I keep them at an active length. If you have some free edge, have Clearly Pink applied. It looks FAB, just like an American Manicure...VERY natural looking.

Good luck! :)

but my nails do peel a bit so would not be suitable? I love the look of shellac but it just enhances nice-ish nails?
