Could it be your brush? I've recently changed brush and it's made a huge difference. Maybe upload a picture so we can see what it looks like and then someone maybe can tell you where you are going wrong.

I've just got a new brush, the nsi one. I was using acrylux profile one but they wasn't lasting very long until they went flat and I couldn't use em. Once I've filed nails they're perfect! it just takes a lot of filing

since November, most of the time my nails are fine but the last 2 I've had to file the hell out of them to get a good shape!

yeah I've changed brush but it did a perfect set yesterday no filing needed. Then today there was lumps and bumps all over.

Filing is a skill in itself! As Mrs B said, we've all been there. As long as you can file well you should be able to finish a decent set. It's not ideal but you'll get there. L&P takes a while to master but the more you do the easier it will get. Do as many as you can. I got there when I was doing one set after another.

I've only been qualified a year and I'm still having good and bad sets. And I always over analyse where I could improve.

Oh and I have clients where I can do every set so there is only a shape and buff needed and others that I'm never happy with at every appointment.

I'm no expert as only qualified April but firstly they look lovely! I would say if you've done good sets previously then maybe your bead was too dry or you applied it too thick.. maybe you weren't able to smooth it out and work with it before it dried. Oh and have you checked your acrylic brush to make sure it hasn't got any acrylic dried in it as this will mean your finish won't be smooth??.x

thankyou! maybe to dry, it was driving me crazy! Im always cleaning my brush too:)

I think your overall set looks lovely, try a wetter bead esp around cuticle. If you apply and don't think its right dip your brush in monomer and while bead is still wet will give you a little more time to play around. Filing to get them looking that good is a skill but to get the acrylic application correct without the need for loads of filing takes LOADS of practice xxx
